Hidden Spaces goes Social

Birmingham’s Hidden Spaces, a project by Associated Architects has now launched the Your Spaces page. The public can now submit their own hidden space and the story behind it to the project, putting the growth of Hidden Spaces in the hands of the people. Since the launch of the HiddenBrum twitter account and the week long exhibition at Curzon Street Station, Birmingham’s Hidden Spaces has seen a huge amount of public interest and support.

Jack Tasker, Marketing Manager for Associated Architects said, _‘As a practice we’re proud to be able to share these spaces with the public, and show them sights that they might not know are there. For us it’s great to show that we really know the city and we’re able to let that knowledge inform our future work.’_

Project partners include the Birmingham Post, Birmingham Architectural Association, the Civic Society and Brum Pic. Earlier this month the re-branded Hidden Spaces website was launched.

Michael Duff, president of Birmingham Architecture Association said, _‘The website will allow the public to participate with the project and upload their own images of what they see as hidden spaces. We’re also looking at developing our app to link into the site, allowing for even more sharing and social activity. It’s exactly what the BAA wants to see, people getting involved with the architecture of their city.’_
