Health Futures UTC Picks up Award

We’re thrilled with the news that the Health Futures UTC in West Bromwich has been crowned “Best Educational Building” at the 2016 West Midlands Built-In Quality Awards. The occasion, which this year was held at Birmingham’s ICC and hosted by BBC Breakfast presenter Louise Minchin, gives recognition of the professionalism, excellence and innovation that lies at the heart of the West Midlands’ construction community.

Working with BAM Construction, the scheme has delivered a striking and creative new-build facility on a prominent brownfield site on West Bromwich High Street. Health Futures is a brand new college, developed to educate students aged 14 to 19, with an innovative curriculum that emphasises technical skills within a “real-life” health sciences professional context.

We’d like to congratulate the project team at BAM Construction, and thank them for their close collaboration and commitment to delivering an inspiring learning environment that matches the aspirations of the UTC in its functionality and quality.

Project Architect Joe Belcher said: “We get great pleasure in the tremendously positive response that the building has evoked from our client and now too the students, teachers, health-science practitioners and wider community that are making use of the new facilities. However, a true measure of the success of the project is that the journey through its design and construction was as enjoyable and rewarding as the end-result itself, and that is a testament to the commitment and spirit of friendly collaboration on all sides”.
